What are the goals of the KSCC?

  • To provide exceptional choral music education for children in East Tennessee
  • To develop individual talent through a positive and fun group experience
  • To provide training in good vocal technique, music literacy and music theory
  • To attract a diverse group of singers
  • To develop an excellent ensemble
  • To promote appreciation and enjoyment of Choral music as a means of artistic expression
  • To develop an awareness of the beauty and diversity of all cultures and styles of music
  • To enrich the cultural life of our community

 

What kind of music will the KSCC sing?

A variety of music: classical, world music, multicultural music, music by living composers, patriotic music, and occasional popular or show tunes.  The KSCC will sing choral works in various languages, two and three part literature, and a capella literature with a focus on diction skills.

Where will the KSCC perform?

The KSCC will be featured on the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra’s annual Clayton Holiday Concerts, will program its own Spring Concert each season, and participate in other performance opportunities in Knoxville (for example: performance of the National Anthem, performances for local Arts Festivals like Dogwood Arts or the Rossini Festival or with the Knoxville Symphony Youth Orchestra or Chamber Music programs).

How do I get involved?

Auditions for rising third through eighth grade students will be held in August, 2020.
