Classroom Quartet/Quintet

The KSO Classroom String Quartet or Woodwind Quintet offers elementary students an “up-close and personal” concert and workshop experience. This program may be requested by any elementary school, including those attending KSO Young People’s Concerts and those who are unable to attend.

  • Informal performances by small ensembles from the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra
  • Presentations designed for young audiences new to classical music: general introduction to orchestral instruments and symphonic music
  • Interactive elements to engage students beyond passive listening
  • Q & A with musicians about their own instruments and musical backgrounds
  • Available November through May each season
  • Serving both public and private schools in Knox County and surrounding East Tennessee counties (Anderson, Blount, Greene, Jefferson, Loudon, McMinn and Sevier)
