About Concertmaster William Shaub

William Shaub has served as Concertmaster of the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra since 2017. A graduate of The Juilliard School and recipient of an inaugural Academy Fellowship with the New York Philharmonic, Shaub has performed as a soloist, chamber musician and orchestral leader throughout the United States and internationally.

He has served as Guest Concertmaster with ensembles including the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, Norwegian Arctic Philharmonic, Phoenix Symphony, Jacksonville Symphony and New Zealand Symphony Orchestra, and has performed with the Cleveland Orchestra. As a soloist, he has appeared in venues including Carnegie Hall’s Weill Recital Hall and Severance Hall and has been heard on BBC Radio, Radio New Zealand, PBS and NPR Classical. Shaub performs on an 1865 violin made by Jean-Baptiste Vuillaume.
