Anna Zellers

Biography

Anna Zellers is a violinist and teacher. She is passionate about communicating via the language of music and sharing that passion with others. Mrs. Zellers is a native of the Charlotte, North Carolina area and a product of the rich musical culture in her hometown. She began violin lessons at age four and immediately fell in love with the sound of the violin and the creative and expressive outlet it provided. Anna embraced music as part of life and enjoyed participating in chamber music groups, youth orchestra, and music camps throughout her formative years. Her teachers included Susan Blumberg, Ernest Pereira, Rosemary Warren-Green, and Donald Portnoy. Anna, always a bit of an independent thinker, began teaching her own private studio at the age of nine, finished high school early, and completed her BA in Music online at Thomas Edison State College. She went on to complete a Master of Arts in Teaching at the University of South Carolina in Columbia as a fellowship student in the Strings Project Program under Dr. Gail Barnes. Mrs. Zellers has previously held the position of Orchestra Director at William Amos Hough High School in Cornelius and was Associate Concertmaster of the Western Piedmont Symphony for seven seasons. Currently, Anna enjoys teaching a full studio of private students, extensively freelances as a violinist in the Charlotte area, and is a section violinist with the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra. Outside of music, Anna spends her time trying new recipes, researching new places to travel, hiking with her husband, or simply enjoying a sunset.
