A Joyful Celebration of Community and Country

On July 4, the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra brought patriotic spirit and musical joy to the World’s Fair Park Amphitheater for its 41st Annual Independence Day Concert, presented by the Lawson Family Foundation. Thousands gathered with lawn chairs and picnic blankets as part of the City of Knoxville’s Festival on the Fourth.
Music Director Aram Demirjian led the KSO in a stirring program honoring American history, featuring timeless patriotic classics, Sousa marches, cinematic favorites, and special selections with local artist and musician W. James Taylor.
“For me, this concert is a celebration of our country as well as our community,” said Demirjian. “That’s one of the many reasons I was so glad to collaborate with W. James Taylor—one of Knoxville’s most unique and distinguished artists.”
The KSO extends its thanks to the City of Knoxville, the Lawson Family Foundation, and WBIR-TV for their generous support. For those who couldn’t attend in person, the concert was broadcast live on WBIR Channel 10, reaching even more homes across East Tennessee.
