Youth Orchestras

Part of the Knoxville Symphony Youth Ensembles (KSYE), the Knoxville Symphony Youth Orchestras (KSYO) offer high-quality orchestral training to talented young musicians across East Tennessee.

Now in its 52nd season, the KSYO program includes six ensembles — five string orchestras and one full symphony orchestra — serving hundreds of student musicians each year. Under the guidance of Knoxville Symphony Orchestra musicians, students receive professional-level instruction in weekly rehearsals that emphasize both technical skill and musical expression. Each ensemble performs three concerts annually at the historic Tennessee Theatre, providing students with inspiring performance opportunities while cultivating the next generation of symphonic music lovers.
