Night with the Arts: A Concert in Celebration of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Night with the Arts is a partnership between the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Commemorative Commission of Greater Knoxville and the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra. Anchored by the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra for over 25 years, this annual event features Knoxville arts organizations including Carpetbag Theatre and Knoxville Jazz Orchestra celebrating the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

April 18th is a livestream event featuring the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra and special guest, Reverend Renee Kesler, President of the Beck Cultural Exchange Center, who joins the KSO for Carlos Simon’s Portrait of a Queen. The recipient of the 2021 Arts Award will also be announced.

During 2021, the Knoxville Symphony is collaborating with 25 composers from around the world to create one- to three-minute works commissioned by KSO donors and premiered by KSO musicians. Enjoy these performances and check back regularly for more!
